Homecoming is a not-for-profit organization committed to the understanding that the human and natural world is one community of life.  A sponsored ministry of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville welcoming people of all faith communities, we believe that when we care for the Earth, we care for ourselves, each other and future generations, while creating sustainable communities.

Through our NOFA-NY LLC Certified Organic Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) project Homecoming Farm-one of the earliest certified organic farms on Long Island; our intergenerational organic gardening area Sophia Garden, and workshops offered both on-site and off,  we enable members and visitors to experience growing food for themselves, other members and those in need in the community through our partnership with The Interfaith Nutrition Network (The INN).

When you put your hands in soil, whether you garden or farm, you connect yourself at the deepest level to Life,  Nourishment, and ultimately, Love.  That is the deepest and most profound work of Homecoming.

The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops,
but the cultivation and perfection of human beings.
